Women's Basketball Pushes Winning Streak to Four in Victory Against Mount Holyoke
Worcester, MA --- Theresa Logan poured in 22 points and pulled in six rebounds to lead WPI to a 53-36 win over Mount Holyoke on Wednesday night in women’s basketball action at Harrington Auditorium. WPI, winners of four straight, move into a tie for the sixth and final NEWMAC Tournament berth with Wheaton, a 47-42 loser to Wellesley on Wednesday evening. The Engineers are now 8-14 overall and 6-9 in the NEWMAC while Mount Holyoke falls to 4-17 and 2-13 in conference.

Lybarger Takes Home Fourth Career NEWMAC Men's Swimmer of the Week Award
Babson Park, MA --- WPI’s Andrew Lybarger has earned NEWMAC Men's Swimmer of the Week accolades for the week ending Sunday, February 5th. The senior takes home the honor for the second time this season and third in his career. Lybarger racked up seven individual victories in a pair of dual meets last week for the Engineers. Lybarger has also been honored as NEWMAC Swimmer of the Week on January 23, 2012, December 6th, 2010 and February 9th, 2009.

Carr Honored as NEWMAC Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week
Babson Park, MA --- WPI senior Matt Carr has been named NEWMAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 5th. Carr shared the honor with Mitch Renshaw of Clark en route to picking up his fourth career weekly award and second this season from the conference. Carr drained an eye-popping 21-of-26 (80.8%) shots from the floor en route to averaging 23 points and six rebounds in a pair of NEWMAC victories last week.

WPI Weekly Athletics Update #19
Women's Basketball's Theresa Logan and Men's Basketball's Matt Carr have been named WPI Athletes of the Week. Logan was instrumental in a pair of NEWMAC wins while posting a career-best 26 points and seven steals versus Wheaton and led the squad with nine rebounds at Springfield. Carr averaged 23 points in two games including 19 in the second half against Babson.

Women's Basketball Continues Hot Streak with Key Road Triumph at Springfield
Springfield, MA --- Senior Lauren Hannmann scored 18 points and freshman Dani Davis added 14 to lead their WPI women's basketball team to a 63-50 victory over Springfield College in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference game this afternoon at SC's Blake Arena. With its third straight win, WPI raised its record to 7-10 overall, 5-9 in the NEWMAC. Springfield is now 11-10 overall, 7-7 in the conference.

Hartzell and Perruccio Post Victories for Wrestling in Dual Meet versus Bridgewater State
Worcester, MA --- Ryan Cassidy and Sean Fields earned key one-point decisions and Patrick Walsh and Jonathan Murray posted pins late in the match to propel visiting Bridgewater to a 35-9 win against WPI Saturday evening in a New England Wrestling Association matchup. The Bears move to 6-14 on the season while WPI slips to 4-10. The Engineers received a win by decision by Mike Perruccio at 141 pounds and a pin from Zach Hartzell at 165.

Longwell and Carr Lift Men's Basketball By Coast Guard on the Road
New London, CT --- Senior Matt Carr had a game-high 25 points while freshman Sam Longwell had 15 of his career-high 18 points in the first half leading WPI to a 82-76 win over Coast Guard in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game. WPI shot 62.5 percent from the floor in the second half (15-24) and finished 32-56 from the field (57.1 percent) while making seven of 17 from three-point range.

Women's Swimming and Diving Chalks Up Senior Day Win Over Bridgewater State
Worcester, MA --- Kelin Song racked up three victories for the Crimson and Gray as WPI defeated Bridgewater State 191-155 in women’s swimming and diving action on Saturday on the Clark campus. WPI is now 5-5 on the season while the Bears of Bridgewater State fall to 4-11. Song won the 200-yard backstroke, the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard IM.

Men's Swimming and Diving Sweeps Past Bridgewater State on Senior Day
Worcester, MA --- WPI posted the best time in every event as the Engineers defeated the Bears of Bridgewater State, 172-111 in men’s swimming and diving action on Saturday afternoon at the Clark campus. WPI is now 3-8 on the season while Bridgewater State falls to 1-9. Andrew Lybarger racked up four individual victories while Nick Catano won the 1000-yard free (10:52.05), while coming in second in the 100-yard IM (1:01.17) and fifth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.91).

Thyden Sets Heptathlon Record as Men's Track and Field Places Third at Tufts Stampede
Medford, MA --- Mike Thyden established a new score record in the heptathlon to lead the WPI men’s track and field team to a third-place finish at the Tufts Stampede on Friday and Saturday. Thyden’s 4198 points placed him third among competitors in the event. Joey Collins finished second in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:23.46. He placed 15th in the 1000 meter run with a 2:46.49 time. Tristan Richardson was second in the high jump event, with a 6-5 mark.

Davis Outstanding as Women's Track and Field Finishes Fourth at the Tufts Stampede
Medford, MA --- Junior Adrianna Davis won the high jump and placed third in the 60-meter hurdles to help push the WPI Women’s Track and Field team to a fourth place showing at the 19-team Tufts Stampede Meet held on Friday and Saturday. Davis paced an outstanding Engineer effort in the high jump as she took the title on fewer misses with an identical 5-1.75 height as teammate Julie Eagle. She also clocked a time of 9.35 to take home third in the 60-meter hurdles
