Springfield, MA --- Sophomore Jackie McDonough (Winchester, MA) tallied the game-winner with her first goal of the season as visiting WPI remained unbeaten with a 1-0 victory over Western New England College Saturday (Sept. 8). McDonough's fired home the only goal of the contest just 4:12 in the second half.

The Engineers (3-0) had a 19-6 advantage in shots with the Golden Bears holding a slim 10-9 edge in penalty corners.

Senior Mary Kate Toomey (Worcester, MA) stopped two shots for the visitors while senior Emilie Donka (White River Junction, VT) kept WNEC in the game by making 14 saves. The Golden Bears, who were playing their home opener, fall to 0-3.

WNEC plays their next game at home versus Keene State on Tuesday. The match will start at 7pm. WPI plays their next home game tomorrow versus Regis College at 1pm.
