WPI Volleyball Swept by Mount Ida 3-0

Newton, MA --- Host Mount Ida remained undefeated by knocking off WPI 3-0 in non-conference volleyball action on Wednesday evening. It marked the second time the Mustangs (6-0) have beaten the Engineers (2-5) this season.
Kate Woodman (Fairfield , CT) paced the WPI attack with nine kills. The senior hitter had just two errors in 34 attempts. Becca Holmberg (Madison, CT) added seven kills and a team-best 25 digs.
The Engineers received another strong performance from setter Nikki Croteau (Wilbraham, MA). The junior dished out 17 assists while Kathryn Bomba (Chelmsford , MA) registered 19 digs on the night.
WPI returns to the court this Saturday, hosting the Worcester City Tournament. The Engineers will face Clark at 10am with Worcester State and Assumption meeting at noon. The consolation match is scheduled for a 2pm while the championship is slated for a 4pm start.
