Sax, Stevens-Rumann lead Brandeis women to second place in Poyau Invitational

WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Brandeis University women's track and field team won five individual events and one relay today as the Judges finished second out of eight teams that scored points at the Reggie Poyau Invitational at the Gosman Athletic Center today.

Sophomore Ali Sax (Lincoln, Mass.) had another fine performance with a pair of wins in field events. She won the long jump with a distance of 16 feet, six inches (5.03 meters) and the triple jump with a performance of 35 feet, 1/2 inch (10.68 meters). Sax also placed third in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.09 seconds. Also recording a win in the field events was junior Bessie Bianco (Middletown, Conn.), who took the high jump with a leap of five feet, 1 3/4 inches (1.57 meters).

Senior Camille Stevens-Rumann (Phoenix, Ariz.) led the runners with a victory in the mile run, posting a time of 5:16.65. Sophomore Katy Agule (Acton, Mass.) took the 3,000-meter run in 10:38.55. The 4x800-meter relay team won the meet's final event with a time of 10:04.63.
