Greg Snoddy serves as the Director of Healthy Alternatives, Recreation and Club Sports. In this capacity, Snoddy is responsible for WPI's alcohol and other drug education and prevention program, and facilitates the blending and integration of all recreation and club sports programs into a comprehensive effort.
WPI's Healthy Alternatives Program Model is very unique in that many alcohol and drug education and prevention programs are located in areas outside of athletics. The WPI Model uses the power of programming, and involvement in recreation, varsity and club sports programs, coupled with education and prevention to influence student behavior with regard to alcohol or other drug use.
Snoddy also coordinates campus based wellness initiatives, such as cooking and nutrition workshops, special classes, such as Tae Bo, Pilates, Yoga, and open recreation time. He works closely with the Undergraduate Student Government and the 25 Club Sports Teams to help facilitate their schedules, practices, and budgets.
A native of Ohio, Snoddy earned his Bachelors degree in Physical Education from Ohio University (1983), his Masters Degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University (1985), and his Doctorate in Higher Education Administration, with a specialty in Japanese Higher Education Systems (1996).
Prior to serving in his current capacity, Snoddy served as the
Director of Student Activities and Orientation Programs at WPI
(1996 - 2001), and before that, as the Associate Dean of Students
at Salem-Teikyo University in West Virginia.
