The Mission of the Poly Club...
- To support all of WPI's athletic teams
- To recognize the accomplishments of WPI athletes by providing awards and trophies
- To help offset special athletic department costs for equipment (e.g., wrestling mat, video equipment, pitching machine, ultrasound machine and athletic training equipment)
- To provide renovations and continually upgrade existing facilities as necessary
- To underwrite, plan and conduct the Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet
- To serve as ambassadors for WPI athletic programs, to the WPI community and prospective student-athletes and their parents
President's Message
In classical greek philosophy, developing the mind and not the body meant developing only half the person. Today's society recognizes the value of keeping fit and the many interpersonal skills such as leadership, communication and teamwork that participation in athletics can develop.
WPI represents onr of the country's most outstanding educational opportunities in the country and has a comparable athletic program that encompasses intercollegiate, intramural and club sports.
The university's Poly Club comprises alumni, parents and friends who take an interest in the quality of athletics that the university provides for its undergraduate student-athletes. Through membership dues, funds are provided for special equipment and awards for athletes past and present. Each season, the Poly Club hosts a number of parent/player receptions to support the efforts of our athletes and their parents.
I ask that you take a moment to give serious consideration to joining the Poly Club. We want your involvement through your membership and your participation in our yearly events. Membership in the Poly Club is open to all friends of WPI athletics. Players, parents, alumni, fans and other supporters are invited to join. Dues received directly benefit WPI Athletics.
