2009 Co-ed Soccer Camp

Date: Monday, July 27th - Friday, July 31st
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Age Range: 8 -15 years old
Cost: $215 for the week (includes daily lunch, Camp T-Shirt, and Camp Soccer Ball)
Camp Director: Malcolm MacPherson and Evan Holmes

The WPI Soccer Camp offers instruction and training in both skill development and game tactics for soccer players of all levels. The camp is directed by Malcolm MacPherson (Men's Soccer Coach at WPI) and Evan Holmes (WPI Assistant Coach and M.Y.S.A. Instructor). The staff consists of many of the area's outstanding college and high school coaches, as well as several excellent student-athletes from the region.

WPI's soccer camp philosophy is to provide the campers with first-class instruction that will allow the player to grow and improve in a positive and enjoyable atmosphere.

Each day consists of training to build on individual skill technique and group (small and large) tactics. Video instruction is also part of the camp program. Goalkeeper training is available through out the course of the day.

Tentative Daily Schedule

8:30 - 9 a.m.

Arrive - Meet at Harrington Auditorium

9 - 9:30 a.m.

Days instructions and warm-ups

9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Individual Technical Skills Training

11:30 a.m. - 12 noon

Group Competition

12 noon - 2 p.m.

Lunch, Films, Swim, and free soccer play

2 - 3:30 p.m.

Small Group Tactics and Games

3 p.m.

Team Competition

4 p.m.

Dismissal

 

Equipment required or recommended includes:

Must have:
  • Soccer shoes or sneakers
  • Shin Guards
  • Water Bottle

Registration Information

To register for a camp, submit the Registration Form, Liability Release Form, and a recent Physical Form, signed by your physician (dated 8/07 or later) to the WPI Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics Office.
