Fort Myers, FL - WPI managed just twelve hits in two games as it fell to Thiel (PA) 6-0 before dropping a 12-4 decision to Baldwin-Wallace (OH) later in the day.
Versus Thiel, center fielder Cody McGregor (Westfield, MA) was 2-for-3 at the pate while Ryan Rainone (Oakville, CT) picked up two hits of his own. Ethan Brown (Lunenburg, MA) picked up his third double of the season while Mark Dignum (Albany, NY) and Brandon Steacy (Framingham, MA) registered base hits in the loss.
Ryan Smalanskas (Shrewsbury, MA) allowed four runs on seven hits while striking out three in six innings of work while Marc Chatterton (Fall River, MA) threw two innings, yielding two runs on four hits.
In a 12-4 loss to Baldwin-Wallace, the Engineers mustered just five hits over nine innings. Scott McNee (Falmouth, MA) was 1-for-3 with three runs batted in for the Crimson and Gray. Freshman pitcher Lyle Miller Milford, CT) was tagged with the loss.
