Scott McNee
Babson Park, MA --- WPI junior Scott NcNee has
been selected NEWMAC Baseball Player of the Week after he collected
10 RBI and eight runs scored during the Crimson and Gray’s
3-1-1 week.
McNee, who hails from Falmouth, MA, collected multiple hits in
four of the Engineer’s five games last week en route to
hitting an impressive .545 (12-for-22) on the week. He also did not
make an error in 18 defensive chances that included an outfield
assist versus Brandies.
McNee’s week was highlighted by a three-run homer
performance during WPI’s dramatic 13-12 victory over the
Judges. This past weekend in game one against MIT, McNee reached
base during all five of his plate appearances (three hits and two
walks), while knocking in a pair of runs and scoring twice.
This season, McNee currently leads the NEWMAC in slugging
percentage (.677), RBIs (35), home runs (7) and total bases (63).
McNee also leads the Engineers in batting average (.355), and he is
second on the team in runs scored (24) and hits (33).
WPI is currently 13-14-1 and will face-off against three teams in
the next week. Tuesday the Engineers will be entertained by NEWMAC
foe Wheaton and on Thursday they will take on Framingham State at
home. Both games are slated for a 3:30pm start. The Boynton Hillers
will then close out their conference schedule with a home
doubleheader against Coast Guard at noon on Saturday.
