Worcester, MA --- Scott McNee (Falmouth, MA) tallied three hits, including the 100th of his career, to help lift WPI to a 12-2 victory over visiting Framingham State in non-conference baseball action on Thursday afternoon.  With the result, WPI ups its record to 14-15-1 while the Rams slip to 4-17.

WPI scored runs in the first six innings, including multiple tally outbursts in the first three frames.  McNee led the offensive attack with a pair of doubles to go along with three RBI and three runs scored. Mike Ball (Waltham, MA) pitched five solid innings to earn the win on the hill.  The senior allowed just one earned run en route to picking up his first decision of the year.  The Crimson and Gray received four scoreless innings of relief from the trio of Ryan Marques (Gloucester, MA), Nolan Murphy (Shrewsbury, MA) and Alex Hanson (Burlington, CT) with Marques notching five strikeouts in two innings of work.

Matt Nicholson (Watertown, MA) paced the Framingham State with a hit and a run scored while Mike Damon (Chelmsford, MA), A.J. Matthew Magazine (Marlboro, MA) took the loss to drop to 0-2 on the season.

Both teams return to the diamond with conference doubleheaders on Saturday.  WPI hosts Coast Guard at noon in the final NEWMAC regular season contests.  The Engineers need one win to secure a spot in next week's NEWMAC Tournament.  Framingham State ventured to Buzzards Bay for a MASCAC twinbill against Mass Maritime beginning at noon.
