Minor Rides Impressive Outing to NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week Honor

Sean Minor
Babson Park, MA --- Freshman starting pitcher Sean
Minor (Los Angeles, CA) was named NEWMAC Pitcher of the
Week for the week ending March 29. The honor is Minor's first
career NEWMAC award, and the fourth weekly award given to a WPI
baseball player this season.
Minor was spectacular in WPI’s sweep of defending conference
regular season champion Babson. The freshman scattered five hits
while tossing a complete game shutout in WPI’s 2-0 road win.
Minor did not allow a runner to reach third base until the sixth
inning, then promptly induced a 3-2-3 inning-ending double play to
extinguish the threat. He notched two strikeouts while raising his
record to 2-1 on the season. He scattered five hits against the
Beavers, striking out two, and combined with fellow starter Conor
Fahey and Jason Forte to limit the potent Babson lineup to just one
run in 16 innings of action.
Minor currently sports a 2.93 ERA on the season, and has three complete games in four starts.
WPI baseball begins its week with three games on the road, beginning with facing Trinity on Monday at 3:00pm. The Engineers then travel to Westfield State on Wednesday and MIT on Thursday before returning home for a Saturday doubleheader against Springfield.
