Fahey Nabs His Third Pitcher of the Week Award This Season

Conor Fahey
Babson Park, MA --- Senior starting pitcher Conor Fahey (Cumberland, RI) was named the NEWMAC Co-Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 19. The award marks the third time this season that Fahey has been tabbed with the conference's pitcher of the week honors. He shared the honor with Babson hurler Michael O'Brien (Shrewsbury, MA).
Fahey was at his best last week, not allowing an earned run in 17 innings of work to help WPI earn a share of the NEWMAC regular season title and the top seed in upcoming NEWMAC Tournament.
The senior allowed just two singles and struck out ten over eight innings in a shutout of Coast Guard on Tuesday and followed up that performance with a complete-game victory Saturday over nationally-ranked.
Against the Bears, the senior only walked one while recording double figure strikeouts for the fourth time this season and tenth time in his career. Saturday at Wheaton, Fahey struck out nine Lyons and issued two walks with no earned runs on eight hits in collecting his fifth win of the spring while extending his streak of consecutive innings without allowing an earned run to 25.
For the week, the righthander was 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 19 strikeouts
