Bob McLaughlin is poised to begin his first season as an
assistant coach with the Engineers in 2009. McLaughlin comes to WPI
with extensive coaching, playing and teaching experience, which
will be an asset to the Engineers in the upcoming season.
The Arlington, MA native is a graduate of Northeastern University
where he had a very successful playing career. McLaughlin was a
four year letter winner with the Huskies from 1993-1997, was an
Academic All-American (1993), and played on two conference
championship teams that went to the NCAAs.
McLaughlin has also coached extensively in the Worcester area. He
has spent seven years as a coach at Uxbridge High School, four as
head coach. His Spartans had a 49-36 record while he was at the
helm, making the district tournament three out of his four years
after not making it for over a decade.
In addition to being a coach, McLaughlin has been teaching for the
last 11 years, and currently serves as a fifth-grade Language Arts
and Social Studies teacher in Northbridge, MA. McLaughlin currently
resides in Auburn with his wife and two children.
