Chris Shank joins former Franklin Pierce teammate Mike Callahan on the baseball staff at WPI. Shank, who will work with the pitchers and coach first base, is in his third season at WPI after playing the last years with the 2005 Can-Am League champion Worcester Tornadoes

Shank played three years at Franklin Pierce before he was selected by the Oakland A's in the 23rd round of the 2002 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft. He posted a 12-10 record with seven saves, a 3.60 ERA, 182 strikeouts and just 53 walks in 193.2 innings over three seasons in the Oakland minor league system.

Shank earned Northeast-10 Conference Pitcher of the Year accolades at Franklin Pierce in 2002 as well as first team ABCA/Rawlings All-Northeast Region and All-Conference honors. He also participated in the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) All-Star game held at Fenway Park.
