Dan Generelli

Pitching Coach - Assistant Baseball Coach

Dan Generelli enters his third season as Assistant Baseball Coach and Pitching Coach for Engineers baseball.

The Worcester native has enjoyed an illustrious career both on the mound and as a coach. Generelli is a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School in 1998 and spent one season at Quinsigamond CC in 1999 before entering the ranks of professional baseball. He was a 20th round draft pick of the Boston Red Sox, and spent five years in the Red Sox system, making stops with the Lowell Spinners, Gulf Coast Red Sox and Augusta Greenjackets.

Generelli moved on to the Expos organization and spent two seasons with the Vermont Expos. He also spent some time as a member of the hometown independent Worcester Tornadoes.

Following consecutive surgeries in 2004 and 2005, Generelli retired from pitching and focused on coaching.

In addition to the three years he has spent on the WPI coaching staff, he has spent six years coaching with WPI Head Coach Mike Callahan and Mike Peters with the East Side American Legion Post 201 club.
