Rob Pantalone Selected ECAC Division III Northwest Football Player of the Week

Centerville, MA --- WPI senior quarterback Rob Pantalone (Camp Hill, PA) has been named ECAC Division III Northwest Player of the Week after accounting for 404 yards of total offense and five touchdowns in a 40-14 win over crosstown rival Worcester State on Friday evening. The award comes on the heels of Pantalone's second consecutive Liberty League Co-Offensive Player of the Week selection.
Pantalone amassed a career-high 140 yards on the ground on just 13 carries, including a 71-yard touchdown scamper and a 27-yard scoring dash that gave WPI the lead for good in the third quarter. As a passer, Pantalone was 16 for 26 for 264 yards and three touchdowns that were sent to senior tight end Mike Butler. His passing touchdowns were from 22, 5, and 80 yards, and he did not throw an interception.
In his impressive four year career, Pantalone is 229 for 424 (.540) in the air, with 3,231 passing yards and 21 touchdowns. On the ground he has rushed for 623 yards and seven more scores.
WPI plays its next game at home versus Becker on Saturday at
Alumni Field. The kickoff is slated for a 2pm start.
