Mike Butler selected First-Team All-East Region Team by D3Football.com

Sterling , VA --- WPI senior Mike Butler has been tabbed as a first-team selection to D3Football.com's All-East Region team. The recipients on this year's first team from Liberty League include running back Matt Bielecki (Burnt Hills, NY) of Rochester and wide receiver Brendan McGowan (Mesa, AZ) of Rensselaer.
Butler, who finished the season with 45 receptions for 845 yards and nine touchdowns, will find out on Saturday December 15th if he is an All-America. In the final NCAA regular season statistical report, he was second among all tight ends in catches and third in receiving yards.
Earlier this fall Butler was selected All-Worcester Area, All-Liberty League and a New England Football Writers Division II/III all-star.
Butler, a native of Athol, MA, ended his Engineer career with 142 catches, which was good for second on the all-time list, 2176 receiving yards (third all-time) and 16 receiving touchdowns.
WPI finished the season with a 4-6 record under ninth year head coach Ed Zaloom.
