Tracy and Dopart Each Notch Two Goals in Field Hockey's Shutout at Regis

Weston, MA --- Sarah Tracy (Oakland, ME) and Celena Dopart (Washington, DC) each netted two goals to help lift visiting WPI to a 7-0 shutout over Regis in non-conference field hockey action on Monday afternoon.  The contest, which was the season opener for both squads, was played at The Rivers School in Weston. 

The duo each notched a goal in both halves.  The Engineers scored just over five minutes into the contest when Nicole Maglione (Charlton, MA) assisted on a Tracy tally.  Dopart extended the advantage to 2-0 midway through the first stanza before Maglione found the back of the net in the closing minutes before intermission.   Maglione added her second assist on a Tracy's goal in the second half while Meghan Linskey (Bridgewater, MA) and Sasha Marokhovsky (Upton, MA) rounded out the scoring with Caitlin Kelley (Saratoga Springs, NY) credited with an assist. 

WPI goalkeeper Betsy Ray (Simsbury, MA) was credited with one save en route to picking up second career solo shutout.  Kristen Tavares (Acushnet, MA) recorded an impressive 21 stops in net for the Pride.  On the day, the Engineers enjoyed a 28-4 edge in shots. 

WPI is off until Saturday when they venture to Newton to face Lasell for a 1pm contest.  Regis travels to Elms for a 7pm match-up on Thursday.
