      <description>Worcester, MA --- WPI standout field hockey back Kelly Johnson has been selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) New England East Region second team.  It marks the second time the senior has been honored as all-region.  Johnson was named to the second team as a freshman in 2006. Johnson had the rare distinction of leading WPI this season in both goals (11) and defensive saves (10).</description>

      <description>Worcester, MA --- The ECAC Division III New England Field Hockey semifinals scheduled for Saturday at the University of New England have been postponed due to heavy rain.  Fourth-seeded WPI's semifinal with eighth-seeded Plymouth State will now be played on Sunday at 2:30pm (note new time).  Second-seeded University of New England and sixth-seeded Endicott will now tangle at noon on Sunday.</description>

Fifth- seeded NEC sees its season come to an end with a 14-8 mark.</description>

On the game's first penalty corner, WPI netminder Allie Griffin made an initial save on Karah Heald's shot on the doorstep. Becca Gamble collected the rebound and beat Griffin between the legs for what would prove to be the game winner. Elizabeth Ray played the final 35 minutes for the Engineers, allowing one goal and making one save.</description>
