Free Admission to Thursday's Basketball Doubleheader

Worcester, MA --- There are certainly no shortage of ways to enjoy the WPI men's and women's basketball doubleheader on Thursday evening.

The Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics Department, along with the men's and women's basketball programs, are sponsoring Community Night, which will offer free admission to the doubleheader.  The idea started during the football season when members of the Elm Park-Lincoln Estate Neighborhood Association and the East Highland Area Neighborhood Association were given tickets to the football game versus Susquehanna.  There will be no tickets needed to Thursday's twinbill as the idea has expanded to include all fans.

The WPI women's basketball team will get the evening started as they host Johnson & Wales at 5:30pm.  The night cap will feature the WPI men's basketball team entertaining Anna Maria at 7:30pm.

If you live outside of the Worcester area or wish not to venture out into the frigid weather, you will still be able to follow the great action.  An audio broadcast with nationally known play-by-play announcer Mark Simon can be found at http://www.sportsjuice.com/, while live stats will be featured on the redesigned WPI Athletics Website (direct link to live stats - livestats.prestosports.com/wpi.

The WPI women have won two of their last three games and are 3-5 on the season while the men currently sport a 7-3 record.  Both teams are back in action this weekend with the men hosting Curry at 2pm on Saturday (live stats available) while the women venture to Southern Vermont for a 3pm contest on Sunday.  The teams open up NEWMAC play on Wednesday at home with a doubleheader versus Coast Guard.  The men square off at 5:30pm in a rematch of last year's conference championship game while the women meet at 7:30pm.  Both games will feature broadcasts on www.sportsjuice.com/ and live stats.
