Antoine Coleman Tabbed First Team All-ECAC

Worcester, MA --- WPI's Antoine Coleman (Everett, MA) received yet another honor for his stand-out season.   The senior forward has been named ECAC first team All-New England.

During the 2007-2008 campaign, Coleman led the Engineers in scoring (14.5 ppg) and rebounding (6.0 rpg).  The senior forward had his best offensive season while also adding 40 steals, 38 assists and 14 blocks. 

In addition to this award, Coleman was a State Farm Division III All-American as selected by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).   He also was the NEWMAC Player of the Year and furthermore was picked to play in the 2008 New England Basketball Coaches Association (NEBCA) Division III Senior All-Star Game. 

Coleman was a two-time first-team All-NEWMAC selection and also earned two straight third team D3hoops.com All-Northeast honors.

The Eastern College Athletic Conference is the nation's largest athletic conference and only multi-divisional conference, with 321 member institutions and over 122,000 student-athletes ranging from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois.  The ECAC publicizes the achievements of over 1,100 student-athletes annually through the postseason all-stars.  In men's basketball, the ECAC awards one Division II all-star team and four regional Division III all-star teams (New England, Upstate, Metro, and South).

This past season the WPI Men's Basketball team posted an overall record of 21-7 and NEWMAC mark of 11-1.  During Coleman's four years at WPI, the Engineers won the NEWMAC regular four times and appeared in the NCAA Tournament all four seasons.  Coleman combined with classmates Jim Marois (Worcester, MA) and Ryan Bourque (Nashua, NH) to post an eye-popping four-year career record of 90-19 (.826).  The trio is the winningest class in school history.
