WPI Athletic Hall of Fame Welcomes 27th Induction Class
Worcester, MA --- The WPI Athletic Department, Poly Club, and Hall of Fame Selection Committee is proud to welcome its 27th Class, the Class of 2009. The five newest members were inducted on Friday, October 30, 2009 as part of Homecoming Weekend. They inductees include: Kerri (Coleman) Oldmixon ‘03 - Track and Field; John Loonie ‘87 - Basketball; Larry Penoncello ‘66 - Basketball; Jonathan Pires ‘00 - Football and Garrett Trombi ‘95 - Wrestling.

Men’s Basketball Team to Host Alumni Golf Tournament on September 4th
Worcester, MA --- The WPI Men's Basketball Alumni Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, September 4 at the Pine Ridge Country Club in North Oxford, MA at 9am. The event will be a shot-gun start featuring prizes, raffles, and a lunch. Proceeds will benefit Big Brothers-Big Sisters Organization and the WPI Men's Basketball Team. Registration begins at 8:30am.

Lirette and Kirkland Named to NEBCA D3 Senior All-Star Game
Worcester, MA --- Senior guards Adam Lirette and Jerome Kirkland were chosen to compete in the 2009 New England Basketball Coaches Association (NEBCA) Division III Senior All-Star Game at Babson College on Sunday, April 19. This game was designed to showcase some of the most skilled players in the region. The rosters were selected by several committees made up of area college coaches.

Men's Basketball Falls to UMass Dartmouth in NCAAs, 81-68
Worcester, MA --- Matt Walker scored 16 of his 20 points in the first half, leading UMass Dartmouth to a 81-68 win over WPI in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament Saturday evening at Harrington Auditorium. The win pushes UMD (27-3) into the sectionals next weekend. WPI’s season, the fifth straight in which it has reached the NCAA tournament, comes to an end with a 21-6 record.
