Results from New Hampshire Championships

Men's Crew

Durham, NH --- Men's Crew had an outstanding regatta at the New Hampshire Championships. The Open Eight finished second out of 28 teams, including several Division I boats.

The team comprised of Neil Lettenberger (Oakland, ME), Connor McGrath (Troy, NY), Scott Gary (Lubbock, TX), Drew Oprea (Hicksville, NY), Andrew Sandefer (New Orleans, LA), Karl Wiegand (Brewster, NY), Tobin McGee (Rye, NY), Berk Birand (Turkey/Pierre Loki) and coxswain Amanda Gagne (Fitchburg, MA) battled a tough headwind to tie for second with a powerful MIT crew and finish just seven seconds behind Holy Cross. Other strong efforts were turned in by the Novice Eight (4th place of 17 - 15:59) and the Men's Open Four (7th place of 26 16:46).

Men's Crew returns to action on October 21st and 22nd when the travel to Boston to compete at the Head of the Charles Regatta.

 

Women's Crew

Women's Crew turned into a great performance at the New Hampshire Championships. The Open Eight, which featured Molly Dingle (Charlton, MA), Stephanie Miskell (North Tonawanda, NY), Liz Marcks (Hingham, MA), Amanda Ruksznis (Sidney, ME), Corinne Linderman (Alexandria, VA), Laura Rockett (Pembroke, MA), Kyla Bye-Nagle (Hanua, Germany), Katie Siering (Sheridan, OR) and coxswain Penny Gikas (North Andover, MA) placed sixth (16:40) of 22 boats. WPI finished just 10 seconds behind Tufts and Colby, a pair of schools that rowed at the NCAA Championships this past spring. The Novice Eight placed fifth of twelve boats, finishing in a time of 20:49. 

Women's Crew will next participate in the Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday October 21st.
