Men's Soccer Sees Season Come to an End with Loss to Babson in NEWMAC Semifinals
Babson Park, MA --- Jimmy Stent scored one goal and assisted another to help lift top-seeded host Babson to a 2-1 victory over visiting fourth seed WPI in the semifinals of the 2009 NEWMAC Men's Soccer Tournament at Hartwell-Rogers Field on Saturday. WPI, whose goal was scored by Thomas Cucinotta on an assist by Tommy Zajac in the 81st minute, finishes its season with a record of 10-7-1.

Hayes and Moan Pickup First Team All District Academic Honors
Worcester, MA --- WPI men's soccer student-athletes Rens Hayes and Paul Moan have been selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I first team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (Co-SIDA). Both athletes advance to the national ballot for All-America consideration. The duo were the only pair of teammates to be selected to the first team in the College Division.

Wheaton Defeats Men's Soccer In Regular Season Finale
Norton, MA --- Despite Paul Moan's four saves, regionally ranked Wheaton defeated the Engineers 2-0 on two goals scored in a 7:48 span. Early in the second half, WPI senior Dominic DeChiara ripped a 30-yard shot toward the upper middle netting, but the Wheaton goalkeeper punched the ball over the target to preserve the deadlock.

Three Second Half Goals Doom Men's Soccer in Loss at Westfield
Westfield, MA --- Trailing 3-1 at halftime, Westfield State scored three second-half goals to rally for a 4-3 victory over WPI in non-conference men's soccer action on Wednesday. Westfield improved to 8-7-1 overall after its exciting comeback victory;WPI (9-5-1) jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Mike Ford and Sean Galligan.
