"The State has ruled that Clinton had two illegal players on
their roster. The players lived in Maynard, and required
releases from both Sudbury and Hudson before they could play for
Clinton. Clinton failed to obtain releases from either
team. As a result, the State ruled both players ineligible,
and ruled that any win Clinton had where one or both players
participated must be forfeited. Therefore, wins vs. Marlboro,
North County, Auburn and Cherry Valley must be forfeited. The
State also issued an indefinite suspension to Coach Lyons, for the
violation of filing incorrect paperwork, with the stipulation that
he could apply to this State for re-instatement at the conclusion
of the 2011 season. This was a State matter rather than a
District 4 matter because it crossed District lines. Any
resulting problems that Main South may have had have been resolved,
and their season remains intact."
