Hardy Earns All-NEWMAC Honors with Outstanding First Season

Babson Park, MA --- WPI freshman starting pitcher Allie Hardy (Townsend, MA) was rewarded for her outstanding first season with the Engineers by being selected to the All-NEWMAC Softball Second Team by the conference coaches. Hardy is the sole Engineer to take home an all-conference award this season.
Hardy was stellar this year, posting an 11-7 record with a sparkling 1.16 ERA overall. The freshman struck out 84 batters in 126 2/3 innings, walking only nine over that span. She posted 11 of WPI's 16 wins on the season and threw 13 complete games. She was even more impressive in conference games, allowing only one earned run in 10 appearances for a 0.14 ERA. Hardy was 5-2 in NEWMAC play with five complete games, while striking out 29 and walking only four over 48 2/3 innings of work. NEWMAC opponents only batted .191 against Hardy this year.
