Softball to Host Girls Clinics on Sundays in October, December and February
Worcester, MA --- The WPI softball program will be hosting a series of softball clinics for girls ages 7 and up for three Sundays in October, December and February. The sessions will run from 9 – 11am.
Registration for Clinic #1 "Improving Your Softball Performance" October 9th, 16th & 23rd is $75 per person if received by October 6th and $100 to register at the door.
What's the best play in softball? The unassisted triple play! Register for all three clinics using the Triple Play Deal and pay only $100! That includes the October dates as well as the other series; "Hitting Clinic" December 4th, 11th & 18th and "Spring Clinic" February 5th, 12th & 19th.
Camp director George Legacy has been the head softball coach at WPI for 5 seasons. With LeGacy at the helm, WPI set the school record with 23 wins in 2006 and in 2007 the Engineers were regionally ranked. He has been a member of the WPI staff for 12 seasons beginning as an assistant, serving as the pitching coach and helped head coach Johanna DiCarlo with the transformation of the program from cellar-dweller to a conference and regional contender.
For the past 16 years, he has served as the head coach of the Central Mass Sting, a under-19 ASA-Pony summer travel team. Legacy's responsibilities include player and coach recruitment, player skill development, practice planning and game management and strategy. To date, he has coached over 640 ASA/Pony official tournament games.
The clinics will be staffed by WPI coaches with a great deal of experience in coaching and instruction of fundamentals for softball at all levels.
