Nearly 70 people attended including players and familes from the WPI and Clark Softball teams, WPI alumni, faculty and staff and Worcester residents.  A great time was had by all!</description>

      <title>Hardy Earns All-NEWMAC Honors with Outstanding First Season</title>

      <description>Babson Park, MA ---  WPI freshman starting pitcher Allie Hardy was rewarded for her outstanding first season with the Engineers by being selected to the All-NEWMAC Softball Second Team by the conference coaches. Hardy was stellar this year, posting an 11-7 record with a sparkling 1.16 ERA overall. The freshman struck out 84 batters in 126 2/3 innings, walking only nine over that span. She was even more impressive in conference games, allowing only one earned run in 10 appearances for a 0.14 ERA.</description>

The Engineers (14-22, 0-1) will now look to avoid elimination on Saturday at 12pm when they take on either Springfield, Babson or Coast Guard at Coast Guard. Clark (17-16, 1-0) will take on host Wellesley immediately following its game with WPI today.</description>

Jen Richards homered and Nicole Maglione had four hits on senior day to lead WPI.</description>

WPI started the day with a 2-1 win in game one before dropping the nightcap, 2-0. With the split, WPI is now 12-21 and 4-10 in the NEWMAC, while Babson is now 19-19 overall and 8-8 in league play. Allie Hardy went seven innings and allowing just one unearned run on three hits en route to the game one win for WPI.</description>
