WPI Softball Raises Over $1100 for Breast Cancer Research
Worcester, MA --- The WPI Softball program raised $1114 at their homerun derby and barbeque to benefit breast cancer research this summer. Nearly 70 people attended including players and familes from the WPI and Clark Softball teams, WPI alumni, faculty and staff and Worcester residents. A great time was had by all!

WPI Softball to Host Homerun Derby & BBQ to Benefit Breast Cancer Research
The WPI Softball team is hosting a homerun derby and barbeque on Saturday, June 27th to benefit breast cancer research. The event, held at the WPI Softball field, begins at 4pm, with registration taking place between 3:30pm and 4pm. The cost to enter is $10 with prizes to the winners.

Richards Softball Tabbed ESPN The Magazine/Co-SIDA Academic All-American
Worcester, MA --- WPI softball standout Jen Richards has been named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America college division second team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (Co-SIDA). Richards is the first WPI women's student-athlete to earn Academic All-America honors since Jessica McAlear took home second team accolades in crew in 2002.

Senior OF Nicole Maglione Named Co-SIDA Academic All-District I
Worcester, MA --- WPI softball outfielder Nicole Maglione has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I first team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (Co-SIDA). Senior designated player/catcher Jennifer Richards was also selected to the first team, marking the first time WPI has had two players named to the first team in the same season.
