West Lafayette --- Senior Joel Rousseau (Pittsfield, MA) placed 41st in the 100-yard butterfly at the US Open Swimming and Diving meet on Friday, held at the Boilermaker Aquatics Center on the campus of Purdue. His time of 57.38 makes the automatic cut for the NCAA Championships this coming March in Houston. Rousseau, who was seeded 70th in the event, defeated several Division I standouts. The event features world record holder and two-time Olympic champion Ian Crocker, who won the preliminaries in a time of 53.14. The top 24 finishers will compete Saturday in the championships.
