North Dartmouth, MA --- The WPI Women's Swimming and Diving tram dropped a close 147-139 decision to UMass-Dartmouth on Tuesday evening.  With the loss, the Engineers fall to 1-10 on the season.

Morgan Guardino (Manchester, CT) had a super meet for WPI as she dominated the boards to pick up first place wins in both one meter (236.03) and three meter (229.65) diving.  Katie Kelly (Garrison, NY) earned two wins of her own grabbing first place finishes the 100-yard backstroke (1:06.99) and 400-yard IM (5:17.48) before swimming to a second place finish in the 50-yard backstroke (32.07).  Hallie Schiess (Wilmont, NH) was victorious in the 50-yard backstroke (32.04) and claimed second place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (28.10) and 100-yard backstroke (1:09.30). 

Other second place finishes included Allison Elder (North Adams, MA) in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:48.99), Amanda Jenkins (Columbia, CT) in the 200-yard (2:09.02) and 500-yard (5:49.05) freestyles, Danielle Sorenson (Reno, NV) in the 50-yard breaststroke (36.30) and 100-yard freestyle (1:00.57), Therese Comeau (Goffstown, NH) in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:19.11), Chelsea Bierkan (Allison Park, PA) and Jessie Brasefield (Manchester,CT) in one meter (176.18) and three meter (179.77) diving.

Women's Swimming and Diving returns to action on February 16th when they compete at the NEWMAC Championships held at Wellesley College.
