Wellesley, MA --- WPI Women's Swimming and Diving kicked off its three day appearance at the NEWMAC Championships hosted by Wellesley College on Friday evening. 

Highlighting the day for the Engineers was sophomore Morgan Guardino (Manchester, CT) with her score of 366.55 and an 8th place finish in the one meter diving event.  

Junior Karen O'Sullivan (Pelham, NH) picked up 12th place in the 200-yard IM with her time of 2:18.67 before combining with Hallie Schiess (Wilmont, NH), Chelsea Bierkan (Allison Park, PA) and Amanda Jenkins (Columbia, CT) to finish 8th in the 400-yard medley relay (4:22.58).  The squad teamed up once again to race to a 9th place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:47.71. 

After one day of competition, Springfield leads the pack with 234 points while WPI sits in 9th place.
