Women's Swimming and Diving Takes Home Third at Worcester City Meet

Worcester, MA --- WPI Women's Swimming and Diving appeared at the Worcester City Meet at Holy Cross on Friday and Saturday, earning 276.5 points and a third-place finish. Host Holy Cross overwhelmed the field with 629 points on its way to the title.

The Engineers featured several strong performances, including Morgan Guardino's (Manchester, CT) two second-place showings in the diving events. The senior co-captain was the runner-up in the one-meter (387.10) and three-meter dives (385.72) to end up the top finisher for WPI at the event.

The Crimson and Gray also picked up a third-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay, as the team of Heather Peruffo (Poughkeepsie, NY), Karen O'Sullivan (Pelham, NH), Alana Aubin (Taunton, MA) and Sarah Dinwoodie (East Greenwich, RI) finished in 4:22.82 in the finals heat. Aubin and Peruffo each added a fourth-place finish, Aubin in the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.10) and Peruffo in the 100-yard backstroke (1:06.34).

Women's Swimming and Diving will be back on Thursday evening when they travel south to face UMass Dartmouth at 6:30pm.
