  • Men’s Swimming & Diving’s 200 Medley Relay Earns All-America Honorable Mention Accolades

    Greensboro, NC --- The WPI men’s swimming & diving 200-yard medley relay earned All-America honorable mention status Wednesday night at the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships, hosted by the ODAC and Greensboro Aquatic Center. The Engineers end the first day tied with Calvin for 14th place with 12 points.
  • Bennett Named NEWMAC Men’s Co-Swimming Coach of the Year

    Westwood, MA --- WPI’s Paul Bennett has been named as the NEWMAC Men’s Co-Swimming Coach of the Year. It is the fourth time he was recognized as the men’s coach of the year and sixth overall. He shares this year’s accolade with Coast Guard’s John Westkott. Additionally, Markus Zimmermann (Sammamish, WA) and Anna Matsco (Windham, NH) were this year’s NEWMAC All-Sportsmanship Team selections.
  • Bauer, Besch and Medley Relays Earn Invites to 2019 NCAA DIII S&D Championships

    Indianapolis, IN --- Senior Jack Bauer (Cumberland, RI) and sophomore Clayton Besch (West Sand Lake, NY) earned individual invitations while the medley relays were also selected to participate in the 2019 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, hosted by the ODAC and Greensboro Sports Commission March 20-23 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, NC.

    WORCESTER – WPI senior Jack Bauer (Cumberland, RI) was selected as the NEWMAC Swimmer of the Year as the 2019 conference championship meet came to a close Sunday night in the Sports & Recreation Center. As a team, the Engineers placed third with 857 points.
  • Women’s Swimming & Diving Concludes Penultimate Day of NEWMAC Championships

    WORCESTER – An individual and a relay placed fifth for the WPI women’s swimming & diving team on the third day of the 2019 NEWMAC Championships being held in the Sports & Recreation Center. The host Engineers remain sixth with 375 points. MIT leads with 851, followed by Wheaton (627), Coast Guard (486), Wellesley (451) and Springfield (402).
  • Bauer Threepeats as Men’s Swimming & Diving Concludes Third Day of NEWMACs

    WORCESTER – Senior Jack Bauer (Cumberland, RI) reset his own meet record with his third consecutive gold medal in the 100-yard backstroke as the WPI men’s swimming & diving team remains in third place following the penultimate day of the 2019 NEWMAC Championships being held in the Sports & Recreation Center.
  • 400 Medley Relay Surges as Men’s Swimming & Diving Moves Up in NEWMAC Standings

    WORCESTER – The WPI men’s swimming & diving 400-yard medley relay set a school and meet record to close out the second day of the 2019 NEWMAC Championships being held in the Sports & Recreation Center. As a team, the Engineers moved up to third with 285 points. Sophomore Matt Shriner (Arlington, MA) also set a WPI record with a fourth-place 4:36.77 in the 500-yard freestyle.

  • 30 WPI Winter Student-Athletes Earn NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Honors

    Westwood, MA --- Guided by four men and three women from the WPI swimming & diving programs, 30 winter student-athletes were named to their respective NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Teams. The women’s team led the way with 17, which was second in the league by two selections, while the men’s team boasted 10. Women’s Basketball notched two and Men’s Basketball registered one.

    WORCESTER – Freshman Katherine Pawlak (Westford, MA) won four individual events and was part of three victorious relay teams as the WPI women’s swimming & diving team hosted the third annual Tech Sprints Saturday in the Sports & Recreation Center. The non-scoring event also featured No. 22 Bates, Keene State. Roger Williams, Trinity and Wheaton.

    WORCESTER – The WPI men’s swimming & diving team won all four relays and five different individuals secured victories at the third annual Tech Sprints Saturday in the Sports & Recreation Center. No. 17 WPI was joined by regional No. 9 Roger Williams, Bates, Keene State, Trinity and Wheaton.

  • Men’s Swimming & Diving Establishes High Watermark For Single-Season Dual Meet Victories

    Oneonta, NY --- The WPI men’s swimming & diving team defeated Hartwick, 193-95, to end the dual meet portion of the 2018-19 campaign with the most wins in a single season in the 92-year history of the program. It is also the sixth consecutive year the Engineers (14-2) have boasted double-digit wins.
  • 400 Free Relay Closes Out Women’s Swimming & Diving Record-Breaking Dual Meet Season

    Oneonta, NY --- The WPI women’s swimming & diving team’s 400-yard freestyle relay comprised of sophomore Audrey Berner (San Jose, CA), freshman Kimmy Hazeltine (Stratham, NH), junior Carol Wang (Framingham, MA) and freshman Katherine Pawlak (Westford, MA) closed out a 167-127 triumph over host Hartwick Saturday afternoon in the Sally Griffiths Herbert '88 Aquatic Center.

The programs were selected by the CSCAA’s Scholar All-America committee on the basis of their fall grade point averages.

    North Dartmouth, MA --- Four individual and both relays secured victories as the WPI men’s swimming & diving team defeated host UMass Dartmouth, 163.5-66.5, and Wheaton, 155-79, in a double dual Wednesday night in Tripp Athletic Center. The Lyons also defeated the hosts 155-79.
  • Women’s Swimming & Diving Splits With UMass Dartmouth and Regionally-Ranked Wheaton

    North Dartmouth, MA --- Four different individuals earned gold as the WPI women’s swimming & diving team split with host UMass Dartmouth and Wheaton in a double dual Wednesday night in Tripp Athletic Center. The Engineers defeated the Corsairs 204-30 and fell to Wheaton 140-100 while the Lyons also topped the hosts 194-26.
  • Bauer, 200 Medley Relay Reap NEWMAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Weekly Honors

    Westwood, MA --- WPI senior Jack Bauer (Cumberland, RI) and the 200-yard medley relay team earned NEWMAC swimming weekly awards. Bauer was named as the NEWMAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week and the quartet of Bauer, junior Dave Chen (Niantic, CT), senior Jackson Perry (Cumberland, RI) and senior Jean Philippe Miralda (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) were selected as the NEWMAC Men’s Relay of the Week.

    Lancaster, PA --- Senior Jack Bauer (Cumberland, RI) won a pair of events as nationally-ranked WPI defeated host Franklin & Marshall, 143-118, and Susquhanna, 177-84, in a double dual Sunday at the Kunkel Aquatics Center McGinness Pool. Franklin & Marshall won the dual with Susquehanna 160-101.
  • Harter and Sykes Lead Women’s Swimming to Split with Susquehanna and Franklin & Marshall

    Lancaster, PA --- Freshmen Rayna Harter (Plainfield, IL) and Molly Sykes (Falmouth, MA) each collected an individual victory as the WPI women’s swimming team split with Susquehanna and host Franklin & Marshall Sunday at the Kunkel Aquatics Center McGinness Pool. The Engineers (8-6), who entered 2019 as the ninth ranked team in the region and earned a vote in the CSCAA national coaches poll, defeated the River Hawks 138-123 and were upended 142-119 by the host Diplomats. Franklin & Marshall (6-3) completed the sweep with a 131-130 decision over Susquehanna (2-5).
  • Relays Bookend Men’s Swimming Victory over Stevens in Nationally-Ranked Dual

    Hoboken, NJ --- WPI seniors Jack Bauer (Cumberland, RI), Jean Philippe Miralda (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) and Jackson Perry (Cumberland, RI), and junior Dave Chen (Niantic, CT) teamed up to bookend a 146-116 men’s swimming & diving victory over host Stevens at the DeBaun Aquatic Center Pool Saturday afternoon.
  • Seo, Pawlak & Sykes Fuel Women’s Swimming’s Convincing Triumph at Stevens

    Hoboken, NJ --- Junior Sydney Seo (North Andover, MA), freshman Katherine Pawlak (Westford, MA) and freshman Molly Sykes (Falmouth, MA) each had the fastest individual times in a pair of events while the WPI women’s swimming team won all but three events in a 149.5-107.5 victory over Stevens Saturday afternoon at the DeBaun Aquatic Center Pool.
  • Year in Review: Women's Swimming & Diving Knocks off Northeast 10 Champion

    WORCESTER – Freshman Molly Sykes (Falmouth, MA) won three events to lead the WPI women’s swimming & diving to a split decision with Southern Connecticut State University and Coast Guard Saturday in the Sports & Recreation Center. The Engineers bested the Owls 215-85 and were upended 161-139 by the Bears. Coast Guard also defeated SCSU by a count of 186-114.
  • Year in Review: Men's Swimming & Diving Edges No, 18 Williams, Tops No. 11 Tufts

    Middletown, CT --- Junior Dave Chen (Niantic, CT) won three individual events and the 400-yard freestyle relay did its job as the WPI men’s swimming & diving team swept host Wesleyan, No. 11 Tufts and No. 18 Williams Saturday. The Engineers are receiving votes in the national coaches poll.
