WPI Women's Indoor and Field Track Places Third at Reggie Poyau Invitational

Waltham, MA --- The WPI Women's Indoor Track and Field team tied for third place out of eight teams at the Reggie Poyau Invitational hosted by Brandeis University on Saturday. 

Koren Roach (Plymouth, NH) led the Engineers with a second place finish in the 200 meter run (28.74) and a fourth place finish in the 55 meter dash (8.0).  Middle distance runner Megan Murphy (Perkasie, PA) earned a second place finish of her own with a time of 2:27.60 in the 800 meter. 

The freshman duo of Danielle Volpe (Chelmsford, MA) and Liz Schreiber (Ashfield, MA) combined for a third and fourth place finish in the 400 meter, respectively.  In relay action, the 4 x 400 team comprised of Schreiber, Volpe, Murphy and Meghan Woods (Hanover, MA) grabbed a second place finish with their time of 4:20.59.

WPI returns to action on January 27th when it competes at the Wesleyan Invitational beginning a 10:00am.
