Men's Outdoor Track and Field Places Fourth as Coast Guard Quad Meet
New London, CT --- Several members of the WPI Men's Track and Field team qualified for the ECAC Championships and Division III New England Championships at last weekend's Coast Guard Quad Meet.
ECAC qualifiers included Ben Roy (Buxton, ME) in the 110 meter hurdles (1st, 15.71), Joe Krasinskas (Sutton, MA) in the 400 meter hurdles (2nd, 57.22), Scott Sideleau (Winchendon, MA) in the hammer throw (3rd, 155-04) and the 4 x 100 relay team consisting of Devin Auclair (Marlborough, MA), Tyson Nason (Gorham, ME), Maceo Braxton (Salina, KS) and Roy.
Division III New England Qualifiers were Shaun Price (Boston, MA) in the triple jump (1st, 42-10.75) and Matt Bradley in the pole vault (3rd, 12-09.00).
Other top finishers included Braxton in the 100 meter dash (2nd, 11.13), Nick Holovnia (Northboro, MA) in the 400 meter dash (5th, 51.99), Chris McCann (Haverhill, MA) in the 800 meter run (5th, 2:01.72), Kevin Jillson (East Sandwich, MA) in the 3000 meter steeplechase (2nd, 10:08.91) and Roy finishing fifth in the long jump (19-09.50). The 4 x 400 relay team of Krasinskas, Matt Basile (Naugatuck, CT), McCann and Jeremy Shaw (Hampton, NH) claimed fourth place with their time of 3:30.18.
Men's Track competes at the Silfen Invitational held at Connecticut College on Saturday.
