WPI Men's Track and Field Finishes 17th at the Division III New England Championships
Springfield, MA - Several members of the WPI Men's Track and Field team competed at the New England Division III Championships held at Springfield. The Engineers turned in several outstanding performances to reel in a 17th place finish at the competition.
Matt Bradley (Atkinson, NH) led the way for WPI with All-New England honors. Bradley vaulted to a sixth place finish in the pole vault (13-04.25) before placing eight in the ten event decathlon (5455 points). Additional athletes earning All-New England status were Jeremy Shaw (Hampton, NH) (3rd; 55.80) and Joe Krasinskas (Sutton, MA) (6th; 56.30) in the 400 meter hurdles; Scott Sideleau (Winchendon, MA) in the hammer throw (8th; 162-10); and the 4 x 100 relay team of Devin Auclair (Marlboro, MA), Tyson Nason (Gorham, ME), Benjamin Roy (Buxton, ME) and Maceo Braxton (Salina, KS) with their time of 43.62.
Other WPI athletes competing included Roy in the 110 meter hurdles (9th; 15.79); Kevin Jillson (East Sandwich, MA) in the 3000 meter steeplechase (15th; 10:02.80) and the 4 x 400 relay team of Krasinskas, Nick Holovnia (Northboro, MA), Chris McCann (Haverhill, MA), and Shaw finishing in 3:26.59 to grab a ninth place finish.
Select members of the men's track team will compete at the ECAC Championships on May 17th at SUNY Oneonta.
