Megan Murphy and Amanda Gurnon Earn All-New England Track and Field Honors

Oneonta, NY - The WPI Women's Track and Field team had two athletes garner All-ECAC honors to help give the team a 35th place finish at the ECAC Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Oneonta State. 

Megan Murphy (Perkasie, PA) and Amanda Gurnon (Tolland, CT) each turned in great performances in their respective events.  Murphy placed sixth in the 800 meter run with her time of 2:21.49 while Gurnon took seventh place in the challenging seven-event heptathlon with 3334 points. 

Distance runner Meghan Woods (Hanover, MA) placed tenth in the 1500 meter run (4:54.58) and Krista Baker (Medway, MA) finished thirteenth in the discus (110-02). The 4 x 100 relay team of Gurnon, Liz Schreiber (Ashfield, MA), Koren Roach (Plymouth, NH) and Phoebe Riley (Pomfret, CT) finished sixteenth (52.36) while the 4 x 400 team of Woods, Murphy, Schreiber and Roach rounded out the day by finishing in eleventh place (4:09.35).
