Arredondo Selected to the ESPN The Magazine/Co-SIDA All-District I First Team

Worcester, MA --- WPI sophomore thrower Jarrett Arredondo (Somerville, MA) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine/College Sports Information Directors of America (Co-SIDA) Academic All-District I Track & Field and Cross County College Division first team. Arredondo now moves onto the national ballot for consideration for All-American honors.
Arredondo sports an impressive 3.95 grade point average in Chemical Engineering. Arredondo was also named to the 2008 All-NEWMAC Academic team this past season.
This past spring, Arredondo won the hammer throw in three of four regular season meets he competed in while finishing third at the NEWMAC Championships, fifth at the New England Division III Championships and third at the ECAC Championships. After provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the hammer, Arredondo finished in 11th place after being seeded 14th in a field of 17.
In the winter, Arredondo won the weight throw in both the MIT and Smith Invitational's while finishing seventh at the New England Division III Championships.
