Woods and Flaherty Shine for Women's Track at Tufts

Medford, MA --- Women's track and field ran to a 13th place finish at the Tufts Invitational on Saturday.  Junior tri-captain Meghan Woods (Hanover, MA) was WPI's top finisher with her time of 3:04.68 and a second place finish in the 1000 meter run.  Woods qualified for the New England Division III Championships and ECAC Championships with her performance.

Freshman Deanna Flaherty (Millbury, MA) finished eighth in the shot put (33-00.50) before picking up thirteenth place in the weight throw (33-11.25).  Stacy Rudolf (Somers, CT) jumped to sixteenth place in the high jump (4-09.00) while Danille Volpe (Chelmsford, MA) and Anne Rocheleau (Shrewsbury, MA) took nineteenth in the 400 meter dash (1:05.37) and 800 meter run (2:36.68), respectively.  Freshman Casey McKenna (New Milford, CT) finished seventeenth (28-07.75) in the triple jump while the 4 x 400 relay team grabbed tenth place with their time of 4:36.33.

Women's track and field returns to action on Friday when they compete at Boston University beginning at 3pm.
