Track & Field Hands in Two PRs and a Season Best at Tufts Final Qualifier

Medford, MA --- A handful of WPI track and field student-athletes competed at the Tufts Final Qualifier Saturday.

The 4x400-meter relay quartet of freshman Alex Rus (Newton, MA), junior Paul-Henry Schoenhagen (Cleveland Heights, OH), sophomore Ryan Wittenberg (Bedford, NH) and junior Warren Staver (Centreville, MD) posted their best time of the season with a 3:19.52. They rank 15th overall and 13th on the performance list with duplicates removed. Senior Austin Scott (Waddington, NY) handed in a flat track mile PR of 4:15.37 which is 31st on the NCAA performance list.

Junior Abby McAdams (Montville, CT) delivered an indoor PR of 16-1 in the long jump and also got work in the 60-meter hurdles. Her pentathlon score from the DIII New England Championships currently sits 19th on the NCAA leaderboard. Junior Lea Strangio (Watertown, MA) added a time of 2:16.62 in the 800-meter run, which was over a second off her best time of the season which was achieved at the BU Last Chace Meet. Her BU time is 23rd while freshman Sydney Packard's (Georgetown, MA) time from the most recent trip to BU is 12th.

The top 15 men and 17 women, as well as top 12 relays for each gender will get an invite to the 2017 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships being hosted by North Central Friday and Saturday. The lists are expected to be released at 9am Monday on NCAA.com
