Krista Baker qualified for the indoor weight throw and Jeff Baker hit his marks for the outdoor hammer throw and javelin. Funmi Adebayo and Jeff Baker each took home Capital One / CoSIDA Academic All-America awards to help WPI achieve a record of six student-athletes to earn the distiction in an academic year.

In 2009-2010, both the Men’s and Women’s programs finished third in the NEWMAC Championships. The Women’s finish was its highest ever in the current membership of the league. In all, seven WPI student-athletes were crowned individual NEWMAC champions. Due to these efforts, Chabot was named the Women’s NEWMAC Coach of the Year. The women’s team success continued through the remainder of the championship season, where they had their highest finish in a decade at the Division III New England championships. Three members of the Women’s team qualified for the NCAA Championships and Coach Chabot was recognized as the NCAA Division III New England Region Women’s Coach of the Year.

Chabot had quite the rookie campaign, helping the Engineer men place second at the NEWMAC Championships, their highest ever finish and fourth at the New England Division III Outdoor Championships.  For his efforts, which included four NEWMAC champions, nine All New-England outdoor performers and an All-American, Chabot was named both the men’s NEWMAC and NCAA Division III New England Region Coach of the Year.

Prior to becoming head coach, Chabot served as an Assistant Coach for four years, working primarily with Sprinters and Jumpers, helping 38 of his athletes earn All-New England honors and eight garner All-ECAC distinctions.

Prior to joining the staff at WPI, Chabot coached Indoor Track and Field at his alma mater, St. John's High School in Shrewsbury from 2000-01. Under Chabot's tutelage, the Pioneers set school records in the mile and the 4x800 relay.

In college, Chabot was a standout cross country and track and field athlete at UMass-Amherst. Chabot was a two-year team captain in both sports for the Minutemen and received All-New England distinctions on multiple occasions. He graduated from UMass in 1999 with a double-major in Psychology and History.
