      <description>New Orleans, LA --- For the second year in a row, the WPI Men's and Women's Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field programs were recognized as 2009 USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Teams.  The WPI women's team posted an impressive 3.37 grade point average, which was tied for 44th, while the men's cumulative average was 3.31 and 16th overall nationally.</description>

      <title>Arredondo Becomes First Men's Track and Field All-American Since 2000</title>

      <description>Worcester, MA --- Jarrett Arredondo earned All-America accolades by finishing seventh in the hammer throw on Thursday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Marietta (OH).  The junior registered a toss of 179-11 to become the first WPI men's track and field All-American since James Hammond finished eighth in the hammer throw at the 2000 championships.</description>

      <description>Springfield, MA --- Junior Ben Roy and senior Joe Krasinskas each earned All-ECAC honors en route to an impressive 21st place team finish (14 points) at the ECAC Championships at Springfield. Moravian finished with 64.5 points to take home the meet title. Roy had an exceptional two days on the track, amassing 6235 points to finish second in the decathlon. Roy's 6235 points make him a NCAA provisional qualifier.</description>

      <description>Springfield, MA --- Junior Krista Baker earned All-ECAC accolades in the discus to lead WPI to a 43rd place finish at the ECAC Championships at Springfield. Moravian took home the meet title with 67 points. Baker had a great meet for the Engineers, finishing fifth (127-03) overall in the discus.  Yesterday she heaved the hammer 150-11 to place ninth in the event for the Crimson and Gray.</description>

      <description>Springfield, MA --- Several members of WPI Men's Track and Field are competing at the ECAC Championships at Springfield College.  The Engineers are currently tied for 20th place with three points while Cortland State leads the pack with 21.5 points. WPI saw four athletes complete in the hammer throw on the day as Jarrett Arredondo led the pack with his distance of 169-10 and sixth place finish. Jeff Baker, Fran Collins and Jason Reynolds combined to place 13th, 14th and 16th respectively.</description>

Rhode Island took home the meet title, earning 103 points throughout the two day event. Worcester's Joe Krasinskas led the Engineers with his third place finish (54.44) in the 400 meter hurdles.</description>
