NEWMAC Women’s Basketball Player of the
Week
Serena Dubois, WPI, F, 2010 (Bangor, Maine)
Dubois averaged 16 points, 13.5 rebounds, three steals and two
blocks during a key 2-0 week for the Engineers. In a match-up of
the last two teams to win the NEWMAC regular season title, she
corralled a career-best 16 rebounds to go along with 14 points,
three steals and three blocks in WPI’s 58-47 win over
Wheaton. Dubois followed that performance by equaling her
career-high of 18 points, while grabbing 11 boards to lead the
Engineers past Clark, 51-44. The victory helped the Engineers
avenge a loss to the Cougars in the Worcester City Tournament
championship game back in November. Dubois’ two
double-doubles this week give her three straight, six this season
and 11 in her career.
Dubois was also named to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) weekly honor roll for her performance during the week of January 12-18.
