Dubois Takes Home NEWBA and NEWMAC Weekly Honors

New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Player of the Week

WPI junior forward Serena Dubois has been named New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Player of the Week for the week of January 19-25. In a 2-0 week for the Engineers, Dubois averaged 23.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per outing and shot 63.6% (21-33) from the field. The forward erupted for a career high 29 points in WPI's thrilling 72-66 overtime triumph over Springfield College on Saturday. After her team rallied from a 12 point deficit with less then three minutes remaining in regulation, Dubois set the tone in overtime, collecting the first two baskets. She added 11 rebounds in the contest to complete her seventh double-double of the season. On Wednesday, Dubois tallied team highs of 18 points and eight rebounds, as the Engineers picked up a 59-39 road victory over the Massachusetts Institute of Technolgy.

season. Earlier in the week, the junior tallied team-bests of 18
points and eight rebounds to help pace the Crimson and Gray to a
59-39 road victory MIT. Over the two games, Dubois connected on
63.6% of her shots en route to averaging 23.5 points and 9.5
rebounds.
