Women's Crew Shines in Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond

Worcester, MA --- Women's Crew completed a busy weekend of rowing on Sunday, facing off against Mount Holyoke, Wellesley, Clark, Assumption and Rutgers Camden on Lake Quinsigamond.

For the second consecutive day, the novice four of Chelsea Brown (Utica, NY), Bridget Stevens (Cropseyville, NY), Amanda Connor (Bolton, MA), Simone Staley (Albany, NY) and coxswain Shiela Muriel (Long Beach, CA) came away with a win, covering the 2000 meter course in 8:50.91.

The varsity four combination of Katie Siering (Sheridan, OH), Amanda Ruksznis (Sidney, ME), Kyla Bye-Nagle (Hanau, Germany), Lindsay Wood (Fairfield, CT) and Penny Gikas (North Andover, MA) picked up a win of their own, registering a time of 7:56.43.

The varsity eight rowed a great race, defeating a very talented Wellesley squad to finish in second place behind Mount Holyoke.  Siering, Ruksznis, Bye-Nagle, Wood, Stevens, Brown, Staley, Laura Rockett (Pembroke, MA) and Allison Dinitto (Wakefield, MA) teamed up to post a time of 7:15.39.

Women's Crew is back on the water on Saturday when they battle for the Donahue Cup versus Williams, Connecticut College and Simmons beginning at 8am.
