Women's Crew's Amanda Ruksznis, Katie Siering and Bridget Stevens Honored by NEWMAC

Babson Park, MA --- The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) recently announced its Rowing All-Conference teams and award winners. WPI had three student-athletes named to the team, which were revealed at the Championship regatta on April 19th.
Senior Amanda Ruksznis (Sidney, ME) and junior Katie Siering (Sheridan, OR) were each selected to All-Conference team, while freshman Bridget Stevens (Cropseyville, NY) earned All-NEWMAC Novice honors.
In addition, the NEWMAC Women's Rowing Academic All-Conference team was announced on Wednesday. Ruksznis was recognized for her academic excellence, and was just one of 32 student-athletes conference-wide to be named Academic All-NEWMAC.
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2007 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
The NEWMAC consists of 10 highly selective institutions committed to academic excellence: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
WPI Women Crew continues its season on Sunday at Lake Quinsigamond in the New England Four Championships.
