Worcester, MA --- WPI Women's Crew competed at the New England Fours Championships Sunday afternoon on Lake Quinsigamond.  Both WPI squads placed in their respective heats to earn a spot in the grand finals. 

The varsity four rowed an outstanding race, bringing home the silver medal to WPI.  Amanda Ruksznis (Sidney, ME), Kyla Bye-Nagel (Hanau, Germany), Bridget Stevens (Cropseyville, NY), Katie Siering (Sheridan, OR) and Allison DiNitto (Wakefield, MA) combined to post a time of 7:35.30 over the 2000 meter course.

The second varsity four of Laura Rockett (Pembroke, MA), Stephanie Kavrakis (Long Beach, NY), Simone Staley (Albany, NY), Chelsea Brown (Utica, NY) and Penny Gikas (North Andover, MA) registered a 7:58.13 to place fourth at the meet.

Women's Crew is scheduled to compete at next week's ECAC Championships on Lake Quinsigamond.
