Women's Crew Places Third In Drive for Donahue Cup

Worcester, MA --- Women's Crew competed against Williams, Simmons and Connecticut College for the Donahue Cup this morning on Worcester's Lake Quinsigamond.
The Varsity Eight comprised of Katie Siering (Sheridan, OR), Cate Simoneau (Greenwich, NY), Suzanna Kelley (Attleboro, MA), Bridget Stevens (Cropseyville, NY), Steph Kavrakis (Long Beach, NY), Victoria Stutz (Trumbull, CT), Mary Helser (Glastonbury, CT), Simone Staley (Albany, NY) and cox Brianna Ledwith (Jericho, VT) rowed to third place (7:19.41) while Williams took home the cup.
The Second Varsity Eight of Juliana Wakeman (Saratoga Springs, NY), Colyer Sigety (Tampa, FL), Molli Malcolmson (Leominster, MA), Caitlin Quinn (Apoa Air Force Base), Rachel O'Hara (Andover, MA), Cailin Folta (Swampscott, MA), Molly Post (Mt. Kisco, NY), Jillian Morang (Auburn, MA) and Holly Fletcher (Dartmouth, MA) recorded a 8:09.25 finish to take third while the Varsity Four of Siering, Stevens, Kavrakis, Staley and Ledwith powered their way to WPI's top spot on the day, a second place finish (7:47.7).
WPI's Novice Eight squad of Wakeman, Kelley, Simoneau, Sigety, Stutz, Quinn, Hesler, Folta and cox Nell Nassiff (Columbia, CT) also grabbed third in their race with a time of 7:24.87.
Women's Crew returns to the water on Saturday when they compete at the NEWMAC Championships on Lake Quinsigamond. The first race is set to begin at 8am.
