Worcester, MA --- Senior Katie Siering (Sheridan, OR) rowed herself to a gold medal at the Textile River Regatta on Worcester's Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday afternoon.  Siering crossed the finish line with a time of 26:24.8 to win the novice race while teammate Molli Malcolmson (Leominster, MA) placed sixth (29:50.1) in the event.

The novice eight of Juliana Wakeman (Saratoga Springs, NY), Colyer Sigety (Tampa, FL), Cate Simoneau (Greenwich, NY), Mary Hesler (Glastonbury, CT), Rachel O'Hara (Andover, MA), Suzanna Kelley (Attleboro, MA), Victoria Stutz (Trumbull, CT), Caitlin Quinn (Apoa Air Force Base) and coxswain Shiela Muriel (Long Beach, CA) finished in second (23:19.248) to earn a silver medal for the Engineers.

The varsity four combination of Bridget Stevens (Cropseyville, NY), Siering, Steph Kavrakis (Long Beach, NY), Simone Staley (Albany, NY) and cox Brianna Ledwith (Jericho, VT) placed an impressive seventh (24:18.9) out of 25 boats.

Next weekend WPI will help the QRA host the Quinsigamond Head Race.
